About Katie Johnson, LCSW, DCSW

As a psychotherapist, I provide services to adults, children and families and maintain my private practice in Lihue, Kauai. I also provide supervision to master-level clinicians working towards licensure.  Since 2002, I have been working with the children, adults and families of Kauai and, in addition to private practice, I have worked in a variety of settings including: schools, group homes and the non-profit sector.

I feel extremely fortunate that I love and am truly passionate about what I do. Even from a young age, I always knew I would become a therapist.  I think this knowledge came from the realization that the desire to truly listen to, care about and support others was a large part of who I am as a person.  My clients have told me that in addition to my clinical skills, it is my warmth, sense of humor and empathetic nature that have allowed them to feel truly safe and have the courage to explore the feelings, issues and/or relationships that were causing them the most pain in their life.
